Two Dead and One Injured In Sunday Crash

An early morning crash Sunday Donald Lee Parduehas left two people dead and another injured.

According to reports, Billy Blackwelder, who was driving, and Eric Morris, who has in the front passenger’s seat, were both pronounced dead at the scene and the rear passenger, Kathleen Copenhaver, suffered injuries that required her to be transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Thrown Stones Lands Teacher in Hospital

One of four youths charged with throwing heavy stones off an overpass, resulting in serious injury to an Ohio teacher, testified in court Tuesday.

“I knew they were going to throw rocks, but never thought they were going to hurt anyone as they did it,” said Keefer McGee.

The four young men had been out, bent on a night of mayhem. Accident on I-95 Kills One and Injures Five

RickSteering over correction is a major cause of accidents.  It is natural to panic and over correct when faced with an auto that reacts in an unexpected manner.  Over correction often occurs when an object crosses into the path of the vehicle, a tire blows out, wet pavement makes a vehicle slide and many other reasons.

Wrong Way Driver Hit on I-385 Ends in Tragedy

Rageross via Wikimedia Creative CommonsAn 18-year-old driver was traveling northbound on I-385 Wednesday night when he struck a stopped car heading the wrong way in the northbound lane.

There is no information as to why the 2001 Mercury SUV was stopped and facing the wrong direction, but the driver was entrapped in the vehicle following the accident.  Unfortunately rescue crews were unable to save the man and pronounced dead at the scene once freed from the vehicle.

Police did not file charges against Franklin Melendez, the driver of the vehicle that hit the SUV, but the case is still under investigation.

Three Shot in Altercation at Local Sports Bar

Officials are not completely sure what happened at a Gaffney sports bar, what they are clear about is that an altercation left five people injured early Sunday morning.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s office responded to a call at the Main Event Pool Sports Lounge & Grill around 1 am where they found three people with gunshot wounds and two others with lacerations.  All were superficial wounds and none were life threatening but they are still trying to sort out the details of what happened.

Greyhound Bus involved in Wrong Way Collision on I-70 in Indiana

LincolnGroup11 via Wikimedia Creative Commons LicenseRecently, near Richmond Indiana, a Greyhound bus filled with passengers learned first-hand how an accident can disrupt lives.  The bus was travelling on interstate 70 near Richmond when a stolen car, being driven in the wrong direction down the highway collided with the bus.

Phillip Lloyd was the driver of the stolen 1999 Ford Mustang.  It is not known why Lloyd stole the car or why he was driving it the wrong way down the interstate.  It is only known that he stole the car from a Love truck stop shortly before the accident happened.  Lloyd died from injuries suffered in the crash.

Walmart Named as Defendant in Negligence Suit by Comic Tracy Morgan

Now the comedian is not joking about a suit against Walmart for the accident.

Morgan is accusing the giant retailer of negligence for allowing their driver to get behind the wheel when he should have been resting.

Seventeen-Year-Old Boy Killed in Head-On Collision

Hawkesbury 201 Commodore SS via Wikimedia CommonsTwo people were injured and one died early Sunday morning in a head-on wrong-way collision on Business 85 in Spartanburg.

It is unclear why Lisa Fall, a 42-year-old driver of a Ford Mustang, was driving the wrong way on Business 85 just prior to the collision.  Fall hit a Honda head-on in an accident that took the life of 17-year-old Allen Peter Turlak and seriously injured his 19-year-old brother.

Investigators have not yet released any information regarding charges against the driver.  There is still a pending investigation into the crash.

Man Dies after Losing Control of Moped on Roadway

Dbratland via Wikimedia Creative CommonsAccidents involving bicycles, mopeds and motorcycles are at a high this time of year.  Summertime brings two wheel vehicles out in mass numbers.  These bikes can be a lot of fun.  If you are riding this summer, practice safe riding.  This can make the difference of life and death if involved in an accident.

On Tuesday, a Greenville man lost control of his moped while on White House Road.  The crash caused blunt force trauma to the riders head and he died from his injuries shortly following the accident.
