Man Electrocuted By EV Charging Station

A man from North Carolina has been killed while he was working on a new Tesla Motors auto charging station in Virginia.

On Wednesday, emergency personnel arrived at Janaf Shopping Yard in Norfolk on Tuesday morning and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Norfolk police have identified the man as Steven V. Weaver, 32, of Angier, North Carolina. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has not yet determined the cause of Weaver’s death.

Tesla spokesman, Will Nicholas, said that Weaver had been a contractor to Tesla. Nicholas also said that the opening of the charging station on Wednesday has been postponed.

Tesla is building a network of recharging stations nationwide so that Tesla owners can use the stations at no cost.

An accident on the job can occur even when a company and their employees take every precaution possible to prevent them from happening. Some workers, such as electricians and other types of contractors who work in similar jobs can face even more risks. Accidents can happen when you are merely in the wrong place at the wrong time or by suffering a fall or be hurt from high voltage equipment and wires.

If you or a loved one has been injured or lost their life while they were on the job, give the Law Offices of Howell & Christmas a call.
